As a way to promote long-life learning and the citizens’ access to training paths in accordance to their needs, motivations and expectations, the CQEP centre (a Centre for Qualification and Vocational Training) identifies and promotes information about the different educational and training programmes available in Porto area to respond to qualification needs.
CQEP offers information and guidance to youngsters and adults looking for school education, vocational training or both and to those who want a skilled integration in the labour market. On the other hand, it provides information and promotion actions among VET providers and local employers.
Regarding the recognition, validation and certification of competences (RVCC), both academic and/or vocational, acquired by adults throughout their lives, by formal, informal and non-formal ways, CQEP handles all process operations according to RVCC benchmarks available in the National Qualifications Catalogue, in close articulation with other education and training offers available.
Information and enrolment of applicant, having in mind the mission and the intervention of CQEP.
Analysis of applicant’s profile in order to identify appropriate answers to each academic/ training situation (motivations, needs and expectations).
Identification of individual academic and professional qualification projects, having in mind realistic options of further studies and/or integration in the labour market.
Applicant counselling (by agreement) in order to find the best academic and/or professional training as well as a process of recognition, validation and certification of competences – RVCC (for applicants over 23 years old or applicants from 18 to 23 years old with proven professional experience of minimum three years), based on the diagnosis and counselling done in advance.
Identification and validation of acquired life-long competences for adults, within formal and informal learning contexts.
Demonstration of competences for adults by means of a test, certified by a jury.
Adults over 24 years old or 18 and three years of duly proven professional experience.
Communication, image and sound (graphic arts and multimedia industries);
Information, documentation and heritage (conservation and restoration of movable and built heritage)
Administration (secretarial and administrative services):
Hotels and Tourism (waiter/bartender services, reception and tourist guides).
- definition of criteria for structuring a training and academic network of offers adequate to local requalification needs, having in mind the existing or emerging business framework;
- follow-up on the development of the offers of the double certification system;
- monitoring and assessing youngsters and adults’ paths in their compliance/deviation from the chosen trajectory as well as their learning results and a successful interaction in the labour market;
- identification of on-the-job training opportunities.
